Reverend Michael Anthony Barclift
Reverend Michael Anthony (Hipp) Barclift, son of William Barclift Sr. and Rubell R. Barclift, was born November 2, 1965 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where he attended Northeastern High School. At the early age of sixteen years old, during his junior year in high school, he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior.
He was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in December 2003. In November 2004, he was ordained by the Roanoke Missionary Baptist Association. In 2006, he received a 3-year certificate in Religious Studies from the Shaw Divinity School at Roanoke Collegiate Institute. He also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management from Bryant and Stratton in Virginia Beach, Virginia and an Associate of Applied Science in General Education from College of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He was called to Pastor Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in August 2008.
Rev. Barclift serves on many local boards and serves in many volunteer and civics activities. He is a board member of the following: Local Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public Schools Education Foundation, Police Athletic League, Boys and Girls Clubs of America. He also has won numerous awards such as: Outstanding Recreator of the Year, Special Olympic Coach of The Year, The Daily Advance Coach of the Year, Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Award, Omega Psi Phi Youth Award, to name a few.
He is married to the lovely Kimberly Colmore Barclift and is blessed with two daughters, Jessica and Amanda, and a grandson, Khairy.
